Probiotic Soda Mocktail Citrus Herbs (Print Version)

Fizzy and tangy probiotic soda mocktail with fresh citrus, herbs, and ice. Perfect summer beverage.

# Components:

→ Probiotic Base

01 - 4 cups filtered water
02 - 1/4 cup organic cane sugar
03 - 2 tablespoons water kefir grains or 2 tablespoons ginger bug
04 - 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice

→ Flavoring

05 - 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
06 - 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
07 - 8 fresh mint leaves
08 - 4 thin orange slices, for garnish
09 - Ice cubes, for serving

# Directions:

01 - In a clean glass jar, dissolve the organic cane sugar completely in the filtered water. Add water kefir grains or ginger bug and pour in the fresh lemon juice. Stir gently using a non-metallic spoon.
02 - Cover the jar with a breathable cloth or coffee filter, securing it with a rubber band. Allow the mixture to ferment at room temperature (68–77°F) for 24 to 48 hours, until the soda achieves gentle effervescence and a tangy aroma.
03 - Remove the water kefir grains or ginger bug by pouring the fermented liquid through a fine mesh strainer. Reserve cultures for future use or discard.
04 - Combine the probiotic soda base with fresh orange juice, fresh lime juice, and mint leaves in a pitcher. Stir gently to incorporate the flavors.
05 - Fill glasses with ice cubes, pour the mocktail over the ice, and garnish each glass with a thin orange slice and extra mint leaves as desired. Serve immediately to preserve carbonation.
