01 - 2 cups all-purpose flour
02 - 1/4 teaspoon salt
→ Butter & Sugar
03 - 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
04 - 1/2 cup powdered sugar, plus extra for coating
05 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
→ Nuts (optional)
06 - 3/4 cup finely chopped walnuts or pecans
# Directions:
01 - Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - In a large bowl, cream softened butter and 1/2 cup powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in vanilla extract.
03 - Mix flour and salt into the butter mixture until just combined. Fold in chopped nuts if using. Dough will be crumbly but should hold when pressed.
04 - Scoop tablespoon-sized portions and roll into balls. Place them 1 inch apart on the prepared baking sheet.
