Creamy Banana Frozen Treat (Print Version)

A creamy frozen treat using ripe bananas and milk for a healthy, natural indulgence.

# Components:

→ Fruit

01 - 4 ripe bananas

→ Liquid

02 - 2 tablespoons plant-based milk (almond, oat, coconut) or regular milk

# Directions:

01 - Peel the bananas and slice them into thin coins.
02 - Place the banana slices in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze for at least 2 hours until solid.
03 - Transfer frozen banana slices to a high-powered blender or food processor. Add the milk and blend until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.
04 - Serve immediately as soft-serve or transfer to a container and freeze for 1 hour for a firmer texture. Scoop and enjoy.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • It tastes like indulgence but is just fruit, nothing hidden or hard to pronounce.
  • You can make it in minutes if you keep bananas in the freezer, which I always do now.
  • It works with whatever milk you have, or none at all if your blender is strong enough.
02 -
  • Do not skip freezing the bananas fully or the texture will be icy and thin instead of creamy.
  • If your blender struggles, let the slices sit at room temperature for 3 minutes before blending.
  • Scrape down the sides often, it makes all the difference between smooth and chunky.
03 -
  • Use bananas that are spotty and soft, they blend faster and taste sweeter without any help.
  • If you want it extra thick, add less milk or none at all and just be patient with the blender.
  • Freeze bananas in batches so you always have some ready to go.
